Black Thought dedicates the new song/video ‘Rest In Power’ to Trayvon Martin.
Black Thought returns with some new material as he drops a new song and video called ‘Rest In Power‘ which is dedicated to slain Florida teen Trayvon Martin. It is the title track off Jay-Z and Paramount Network’s upcoming docu-series ‘Rest In Power: The Trayvon Martin Story‘.
The video shows Black Thought performing the song against an outstretched American flag and a brick wall lighted by projections of Martin Luther King, protests, and Colin Kaepernick kneeling. Rest in Power archival material is also interwoven throughout the film.
Rest in Power: The Trayvon Martin Story, presented by Jay-Z, premieres on Paramount Network on July 30th. In addition to the 17-year-death old’s in Florida in 2012, the six-part docuseries will look at “race, politics, power, money, and the criminal justice system,” according to the network.
