Tyga shares his new single “Sunshine” with Jhene Aiko and Pop Smoke.
Following the release of “Ay Caramba” last month, Tyga is back with more new music. The rapper enlist Jhene Aiko and a posthumous verse from Pop Smoke for his new single titled “Sunshine”. The song is produced by Mike Crook and DJ Swish, and it pays homage to Lil Flip’s hit “Sunshine”.
The song arrives with a music video, which features a message from Pop Smoke’s mother and brother, Audrey and Obasi Jackson at the end.
“So I hopped out the coupe (Coupe), and I hopped in pursuit (Suit) / Like it’s big Papi Locsta, Mr. Spin-in-Rovers (Rovers) / Look up my face is on a poster (Poster) / You don’t got no ring, that’s a sign (Sign), baby swinging 9’s,” raps Smoke.
According to Pop’s brother, “Sunshine” highlights the artist’s versatility and reveals a distinct side of the NYC rapper.
“The video and song solidifies that Pop wasn’t all about drill and I appreciate hearing his voice on a song like this,” Obasi said. “It shows there was love in his heart with a story to tell and his legacy was more than drill music. I’m glad that he gets to be seen in a different light.”
Tyga has recently released freestyles such as “Splash” with Moneybagg Yo, “Mrs. Bubblegum,” “Freaky Deaky” with Doja Cat, and the disputed “Ay Caramba.” Fans can see the accompanying video for “Sunshine” below, which combines the song’s subject matter with footage of Tyga and his co-star embracing love at various points in their life.
