The Weeknd drops “Save Your Tears” remix with Ariana Grande.
The Weeknd continues putting out new remixes off his last year’s record-breaking album “After Hours” as he enlists Ariana Grande for the remix of his track called “Save Your Tears“. Last year, The Weeknd assisted Ariana Grande on “Off The Table” off her album “Positions“. He dropped the official video for the original version earlier this year, and the new remix comes along with an animated visual.
The video, created by Jack Brown and produced by Blinkink, is an eye-popping and bizarre animated treatment with depictions of both artists. The movie incorporates elements of the “After Hours” concept and storyline — we see the red-jacketed character, and there’s a repeating motif of decapitation — but it’s more of an improvisation than a development of the plot (as far as we can tell, anyway).
Even before this remix, “Save Your Tears” was one of the most popular songs from one of the most successful albums of the last decade, with double-platinum certification and over one billion streams.
It also extends the Weeknd’s hot run, which began in November 2019 with the release of the first two songs from “After Hours,” “Heartless,” and “Blinding Lights,” the latter of which was the fastest to surpass 2 billion Spotify streams in history and is one of just four songs to do so.
