Nicki Minaj’s 2009 mixtape Beam Me Up Scotty has received its first-ever streaming release. On the mixtape, she also includes several new tracks, including a single called “Seeing Green,” which features Drake and Lil Wayne. There’s also a new song called “Fractions” and a remix of Skillibeng’s “Crocodile Teeth” on the album.
Earlier this week, Nicki Minaj makes her return to Social Media with the announcement of new music. And a couple of hours back she reveals she will release her 2009 Mixtape “Bean Me Up Scotty” on all digital platforms. The project is having 4 new tracks which include the song called “Seeing Green” which is a Nicki Minaj collaboration with Drake & Lil Wayne.
Minaj has been on a handful of singles since releasing “Yikes” last year. She appeared in Doja Cat’s “Say So” remix in May of 2020. (which earned Nicki Minaj her first No. 1 single). Since then, she’s been featured on 6ix9ine’s “TROLLZ,” A$AP Ferg and MadeinTYO’s “Move Ya Hips,” Ty Dolla $ign’s “Expensive,” Mr Eazi and Major Lazer’s “Oh My Gawd,” Sada Baby’s “Whole Lotta Choppas (Remix),” Mike WiLL Made-“Whole It’s Lotta Choppas (Remix), Along with YoungBoy Never Broke Again, it’s “What That Speed Bout?! “.
Thanks to a soaring sample of Heather Headley’s 2006 R&B ballad “In My Mind,” “Seeing Green” feels like a victory lap from the start. That beginning is only good for 25 seconds before Lil Wayne dives into an excessively topical, lengthy verse in which he flaunts his “Balenciaga mask” and “Gucci teddy bears and pandas.” On a Minaj song, Wayne may be hit or miss, but even his less-than-stellar lines, like on 2014’s “Only,” manage to be entertaining. Wayne still seems like he’s having a good time — after all, he raps the term “badonkadonk” — but his looseness comes across as chaotic. Meanwhile, Drake delivers a solid concluding line, addressing the knee issue that has prevented him from releasing his new album, Certified Lover Boy.
