Pusha T, JAY-Z and Pharrell connect on “Neck & Wrist”.
There were some rumours that Jay-Z will appear on Pusha T’s forthcoming album, and the rapper confirmed last month that Hov did assist him on a new song. “I got three songs with him now… something from my new album,” he said. “I don’t know if I was supposed to say that, but I’m up with y’all, though, we here.”
Now Pusha T has unveiled his brand new song “Neck & Wrist” with the feature from Jay-Z and production from Pharrell. This follows up his previous single “Diet Coke” with Kanye West and 88 Keys. This marks their third collaboration, after “So Appalled” from Kanye West’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, and the 2016’s “Drug Dealers Anonymous”.
“They like, “If BIG was alive, Hov wouldn’t be in his position” / If BIG had survived, y’all would have got The Commission / Hov was gon’ always be Hov / It ’twas the universe will ’cause Allah said so, and now I’m here,” raps Jay-Z.
“Hov is first, because he made Reasonable Doubt, and that is the grail of all drug levels, without being all about drugs. It spoke more to the lifestyle,” Push stated as he listed his favourite three coke rappers of all time. “Lyrically, I’m going to say that I’m next. And I’ll say Jeezy is third, because I don’t believe there was a stronger moment in time than Trap or Die.”
