Pharrell & Travis Scott connect on “Down In Atlanta”.
Pharrell and Travis Scott join forces for a brand new single titled “Down In Atlanta”. This track was first previewed by Travis in September during a show for “Road To Utopia”. It was supposed to drop earlier this month but was pushed back after the death of rapper Takeoff.
This is the third collaboration between the duo, following Rodeo’s “Flying High” and ASTROWORLD’s “SKELETONS”. The song will appear on Pharrell’s upcoming project “Phriends, Vol. 1”.
“Down in Atlanta / Stayed at the Centerfold / Downstairs, my ‘Ventador / You should’ve seen it / Down in Atlanta / At the Graveyard Tavern / You thought you seen a ghost / It’s just where the Phantoms are,” raps La Flame.
The connection between La Flame and P has existed in the past. Scott and Pharrell collaborated on the 2015 Rodeo song “Flying High” with Toro y Moi, and they later collaborated once again on the 2018 Astroworld song “Skeletons” with Tame Impala.
It’s unknown whether “Down In Atlanta” will be on Skateboard P’s next album Phriends or whether it will go solo. He discussed the endeavour in Rolling Stone’s “Musicians on Musicians” series, revealing that K-pop group BTS will be a part of it.
