Uncle Murda drops a new song “Rap Up 2020”.
Uncle Murda returns with his annual “Rap Up” track as he raps about the things he went through in 2020. He talks about his family, COVID-19, deals gone wrong, and more.
Murda performed his yearly “Rap Up” on the last day of the year, recounting the events of what many perceive to be the worst year ever. He reflects on the turbulent times on the roughly 14-minute track, which was produced by Great John.
He commemorates folks who passed away this year, including Andre Harrell, Fred the Godson, and Pop Smoke. Also, He mocks Jeezy over Gucci Mane’s “smoking on Pookie Loc” remarks during their Verzuz feud, accuses Tory Lanez of shooting Megan Thee Stallion because he was thirsty, and disses Funkmaster Flex for having liposuction, among other things.
The beat changes to Luther Vandross’ “Never Too Much” as he discusses the controversial Verzuz feud between Jeezy and Gucci Mane, as well as the Black lives lost, notably Breonna Taylor and George Floyd. The presidential election, R. Kelly, Kanye West, and Cardi B’s “WAP” are among the topics he discusses next.
Alicia Myers’s music was played over a sample of hers. “I Want to Thank You,” he begins with Kobe Bryant’s tragic death in January and shares his own conspiracy theories surrounding the pandemic and the vaccine. “Whole coronavirus sh*t feel like a money grab / They tryna get paid / Virus is man-made,” raps Murda.
He ends by announcing that this will be his final “Rap Up.” He adds, “F**k 2020, I’m done, it’s a wrap / I ain’t doing this sh*t no more, this is my last year.” Uncle Murda released his new project Don’t Come Outside, Vol. 3 alongside “Rap Up 2020,” which features Benny the Butcher and Lil Tjay.
