Nipsey Hussle drops ‘Racks In The Middle’ featuring Roddy Ricch & Hit-Boy.
After giving us a hit debut album ‘Victory Lap‘ last year which was nominated for ‘Best Rap Album‘ at the Grammys, Nipsey Hussle decided to start the new era today with a brand new single called ‘Racks In The Middle‘. The song features producer-rapper Hit-Boy and young Cali artist Roddy Ricch.
“Look, under no condition would you ever catch me slippin / Motorcaded shooters plus the Maybach chauffeur driven / If they catch me wit it, gon send me off to prison / Judge ain’t sympathizin, court don’t show forgiveness,” raps Hussle.
Hussle’s music sales jumped by over 3,000 per cent and his streaming increased by 1,773 per cent in the United States after his death, with “Racks in the Middle” selling 3,000 units and receiving 11.8 million streams. As a result, “Racks in the Middle” became the rapper’s highest-charting single as a lead artist, and it was one of four tracks by him to posthumously debut on the Billboard Hot 100.
The single debuted at number 26 on US Billboard Hot 100, and number 11 on US Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs. The song earned certified platinum status on RIAA.
Hussle was shot, hence this is the last song he ever released. At the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards, the song was up for Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance, winning the latter. Hussle’s parents and his fiancée Lauren London accepted the prize on his behalf, making it the rapper’s first Grammy success.
Nipsey’s song “Racks in the Middle,” which features Roddy Ricch and Hit-Boy, takes listeners on a luxurious voyage. As the track lays down the highs of success and lows of their foes, private airplanes, and million-dollar sports cars are featured.
