New Music Robert Glasper - Therapy Pt. 2 (Feat. Mac Miller)

Robert Glasper shares the new song “Therapy Pt. 2” featuring Mac Miller.

Robert Glasper, the Grammy-winning pianist, producer and songwriter is prepping the release of his “Black Radio III” album’s supreme edition which is slated to release this year. Ahead of the release, the musician has released a brand new song titled “Therapy Pt. 2”, which is a collaboration with Mac Miller and features two posthumous verses from the late rapper.

“I just got the iPhone 6, it looks like Steve Jobs done ran out of tricks / Yeah, I come through stuntin’ on ’em, in the park, buntin’ on ’em / Somebody should pump you up, you best get Joe Budden on ’em / New couch, I’m f**kin’ on it, after that, don’t f**kin’ want it,” raps Miller.

In an interview with Zane Lowe, Glasper talked about how he collaborated with Miller. “I was in another studio session and he called me one night like ‘What are you doing?’ And I said ‘Actually man, I’m in the studio.’ He said ‘Man, I’m in the lab too… I need to be inspired. Send me something!’ I was like ‘Word, ok.’”

He continued, “I just sent him the track I was working on and he literally sent that joint back in like 45 minutes to an hour. The whole song was done in 45 minutes to an hour. He was always like that, he always wanted to work. Few times he came and sat in with me, some of my shows, always talking about music. He just really lived off music. Music was literally his air. Gonna miss that dude.”

“We’re honoured to support in sharing this beautiful song that Malcolm and Robert Glasper created together,” the Mac Miller estate commented. “The song is a reflection of the special friendship and musical gifts the two shared.”

The initial version of Black Radio III, out in February, had cameo performances from Killer Mike, Q-Tip, Esperanza Spalding, Ant Clemons, H.E.R., Jennifer Hudson, and Ty Dolla Sign, among others. Black Radio III follows Glasper’s previous releases, Black Radio (2012) and Black Radio II (2013).
