Listen to new Nipsey Hussle & Jay-Z collab “What It Feels Like”.
After a preview earlier this week, A new collaboration between Jay-Z and the late California rapper Nipsey Hussle is here. The track is titled “What It Feel Like” which appears on the ‘Judas and The Black Messiah‘ Soundtrack. The film is a story of Black Panther leader Fred Hampton and it stars Daniel Kaluuya & LaKeith.
The song “What It Feels Like” is featured on the soundtrack for Judas and the Black Messiah, a film about the assassination of Black Panther leader Fred Hampton by the FBI. Nipsey begins the song with a verse on surviving in the rap game, a sombre foreshadowing given his death in 2019. “You let them crackers storm your Capitol, put their feet up on your desk/And yet you talkin’ tough to me, I lost all my little respect,” Jay-Z says, referring to Trump supporters’ recent assault on the US Capitol and the treatment of white insurrectionists.
Hit-Boy, Aaron “Dash” Sherrod, Ryan Coogler, and Archie Davis are the album’s executive producers. Black Thought, Lil Durk, Rapsody, Saba, Smino, Polo G, G Herbo, Rakim, and H.E.R., who is nominated for a Golden Globe for “Fight for You,” are among the artists featured.
The film stars Daniel Kaluuya as Fred Hampton, LaKeith Stanfield as William O’Neal, Jesse Plemons, Dominique Fishback, Ashton Sanders, and Martin Sheen, and is available on HBO Max this Friday.
