Megan Thee Stallion drops the ‘Savage’ remix.
Megan Thee Stallion returns with some new material as she teams up with Beyonce for the official remix of her track called ‘Savage‘. The original version appeared on Megan’s latest project ‘Suga‘ which was released last month.
Because both performers are from Houston, Texas, all revenues from this unexpected surprise will go to Houston’s Bread of Life’s Covid-19 relief efforts. Megan shared an Instagram image with a Houston-themed animation to promote the remix’s release.
Beyonce’s first new song since her Lion King companion album ‘The Gift’ is Savage Remix. Megan has had a busy few years, and “Savage” is the culmination of it. This song appeared on her EP Suga, which was released in March.
Fans were thrilled to learn that the two ladies were collaborating, but Megan herself broke down in tears when Beyoncé’s involvement was made official. “It was still like, is it really gonna drop? Are we doing this for real, for real?” Megan tells Apple Music’s Ebro Darden in an interview. “And I mean I cried…like, I had to call my grandma. I was like, ‘Nany! I got a song with Beyoncé.”
She added, “I got a call one day and they were like, ‘Yeah, Beyonce is gonna do a remix to ‘Savage.’ I was like, shut the f— up! [laughing] I didn’t believe it. I was like, ‘Yeah, whatever.’ I was like, ‘You know I got a studio in the house?’ So I went in there and recorded a new verse and then maybe like the next week I heard the song.”
