NBA Youngboy drops a new song “How I Been”.
After giving us the “Until I Return” mixtape and a joint project “Nobody Safe” with Rich The Kid last month, NBA Youngboy continues releasing new material as he drops another new track called “How I Been” along with an official video.
On top of an optimistic piano-based groove, the Baton Rouge rapper delivers a melodic offering. NBA YoungBoy narrates a more hopeful story that hears him pleasantly speaking of a woman he loves while improving himself, using a lot of auto-tune. Despite their fights and on-again, off-again relationship, all he wants is for her to be treated fairly.
Youngboy Never Broke Again is one of rap’s most influential voices among young people. In the previous three years, he’s been all over the place, releasing five full-length albums this year alone. While some of his music has been criticized for being repetitive, his work ethic is unrivaled, and audiences don’t seem to mind that his sound hasn’t changed much in 2020. He is one of the most popular musicians on YouTube, in part because he chooses to provide exclusive content to his followers on the website all of the time.
“How I Been” follows prior videos for songs such as “Thrasher,” “Peace Hardly,” and “Dead Trollz.” In addition to his own work, YoungBoy has contributed to hits such as Mike WiLL Made-“What It’s That Speed Bout?!,” Migos’ “Need It,” and Future’s “Trillionaire” this year.
