Logic shares new song “Wake Up” with Lucy Rose.
Logic is prepping the release of his first independent album “College Park” which is scheduled to drop on February 24th. The rapper kicks off the rollout with a brand new song titled “Wake Up” which features assistance from Lucy Rose. This marks the third collab between the duo, as they previously linked up on “Thank You” and “Innermission”.
“No need to need to mention my attention to detail / Homie we will prevail, lotta motherf**kers wanna wake up everyday / Then they murder they own but they know there’s another way / F**k all that violence and drugs in communities,” he raps.
The singer introduces a voiceover of a woman at the end of the track, who narrates the inspiration behind the name of the album “College Park.”
It was a place in 2011, where Logic and his friends took a journey that had a profound impact on him. The album is Logic’s eighth studio album, which he is releasing as an independent artist after ending his decade-long association with Def Jam Records. It will feature collaborations with Norah Jones, Seth Macfarlane, Joey Badass, RZA, Statik Selectah, Redman, Fat Trel, and Bun B. The album is an autobiographical one, named after the town where Logic spent a year living on a couch in the basement of his friend Big Lenbo’s home.
