In the last three weeks, Wale has released an unusual collection of songs. He started with a remix of Ed Sheeran’s hit “Shape of You,” then a five-minute poem called “Groundhog Day,” and finally a collaboration with G-Eazy called “Fashion Week.” He casually posted a new freestyle over “Soke,” a popular song by Nigerian reggae-dancehall artist Burna Boy, in the early hours of Wednesday night.
Wale has always supported artists from his home country of Nigeria, so it’s no surprise that he’s released another freestyle over a song by an African artist.
