Listen Usher Returns With A New Single GLU

Usher shares a new song “GLU”.

Usher finally makes his return to the music scene as he unveils a brand new single called “GLU” which is produced by Avila Brothers, Lil Jon & Sean Garrett. The track was teased previous with a music video clip, featuring cameo from Lori Harvey.

In a statement to VIBE, Usher revealed that it will be his directorial debut. “I knew she’d never done a video before, in the formal sense. And that isn’t necessarily her most comfortable place to be. But, so long as she would allow me to be her director, I could have my first with her. You know what I’m saying? And we could go through this together,” he said. “She had to trust me, and I had to trust that she could show up and do what it is that I envisioned. Just hoping that it sparks imagination for other people. If you see it, and it makes you feel some kind of way, maybe it then makes you want to have your own experience, or either this expectation, like, ‘Well honey, he did that for us. I mean, what you going to do for me?’ You know what I’m saying?”

Usher’s ninth studio album is set to release later this year via Larry Jackson’s gamma, and the first single from the album, “GLU,” has already been unveiled. This marks Usher’s return to the music scene since his confessional single “Bad Habits” reached No. 1 on R&B radio in 2020.

Last year, Usher worked on various collaborations with Marshmello, Tyga, Kiana Lede, and Ella Mai. He also joined forces with Lil Jon and Ludacris for “S*xBeat.” Additionally, he commemorated the 25th anniversary of his second album My Way by releasing a special edition that included six new tracks.

Usher hasn’t released a solo studio album in over 7 years, as he last dropped “Hard II Love” in 2016. In 2018, the R&B legend linked up with Zaytoven for a joint album titled “A”.
