Nas drops new Eminem collaboration “EPMD 2”, with “King’s Disease 2” album.
The iconic moment is finally here. Nas and Eminem have collaborated for the first time, on the song called “EPMD 2“. The track also featured an appearance from the hip-hop duo EPMD. However, Eminem has previously contributed as producer on Nas’ sixth studio album “God’s Son” in 2002, this is the first time the two legends rap on the same joint.
The track comes along with Nas’ new fourteenth studio album “King’s Disease 2“, a sequel to his last year Grammy-winning project. The 15 track album also features the legendary Ms. Lauryn Hill, along with A Boogie wit da Hoodie, YG, Charlie Wilson, and Blxst. Just like his previous album, this one is also executive produced by Hit-Boy.
EPMD, the iconic Hip Hop duo consisted of Erick Sermon and Parish Smith who recorded a series of classic albums in the late ’80s and early ’90s, is also featured on “EPMD 2.” Meanwhile, Nas and Eminem’s first official collaboration is “EPMD 2,” the follow-up to Nas and Hit-Judas Boy’s and the Black Messiah soundtrack cut. Until now, the two had only collaborated on bootleg recordings and unreleased material.
It’s unclear whether Nas’ King’s Disease II will compete with Kanye West’s Donda, which is set to release on August 6 – barring any further delays, of course.
Notable Eminem lyrics:
“Y’all should call yourselves Santa (Why?)/’
Cause none of y’all are real (Nah), not a single one (Like what?)”
“Misery index, poverty, it is people staling and PTSG
R.I.P. out to DMX, Stezo, E and Nipsey
Ecstasy and Prince Markie Dee, MF DOOM, I hit 50 via text
Told him that I love him
’cause I don’t even know
when I’ma see him next (Nah)
Tomorrow could be your death.”
Eminem says at this pub that his adversaries shouldn’t use the name Santa Claus since they are false. Father Christmas, a made-up character who frequently appears in Christmas tales given to children, is another name for Santa Claus. Eminem is advising his detractors to refer to themselves as Santa since they are false for this reason.
Eminem is honouring fallen musicians in this song by paying homage to them. MC Ecstasy passed away on December 31, 2020, while DMX died on April 9th, 2021. MF Doom passed away on October 31, 2020, and Biz Markie passed away on July 16, 2019.
