Lil Baby shares new track “The World Is Yours to Take”.
Ahead of his new project “It’s Only Me“, Lil Baby teams up with Budweiser for a brand new song titled “The World Is Yours To Take”, which is an anthem for FIFA World Cup 2022 Qatar. The track samples Tears For Fears 1985 classic “Everybody Wants To Rule The World”.
“Wishin’ for the best, preparin’ for the worst too / Got out here and bust my a*s, I had to work too / Some stuff is out of my hand, I can’t control it / If I don’t know nothin’, dawg, I know one thing,” he raps.
Baby referred to this launch as a “special one” to him and made a shout-out to Budweiser, which has been named the FIFA World Cup’s “official drink. “It’s about the journey we’ve all been on over the last few years and celebrating what’s next,” Baby said in a press release. “When I started in music in 2017, I went all in on a dream that brought me to where I am now, and that’s what I want fans to feel when they hear the song. I hope it makes you feel like you’re walking out onto the pitch at the World Cup making moves toward your own dreams, whatever that means to you.”
The music video for the song was directed by a Canadian filmmaker known as Director X, who was inspired by the video for Tears For Fears’ “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” in creating the visuals, specifically by featuring desert backdrops. The video also features Lil Baby walking through stadiums used for the FIFA World Cup and interacting with other artists, DJs and creators like Londra and Papatinho.
