This is Spice’s first new music since the deluxe edition of her EP “Like..?“ which dropped in July. This Week, Ice Spice will also make her debut on Saturday Night Live.
“Yeah, pretty gyal, me no do no kiss and tell / As long as you treat me well, I will treat you more than gem / Me no send my chains, you are my real flex / Aye, yeah, gimme promise you ain’t gonna bail on me,” sings Rema.
Rema is riding high on the success of his Selena Gomez collab hit “Calm Down”. The song appeared on his most recent album “Rave & Roses” which was released in April.
Earlier this year, Spice also linked up with Nicki Minaj for “Barbie World“, and assisted Taylor Swift on the “Karma” remix.Later this month, Ice Spice will also be a supporting act for Doja Cat’s North American arena “The Scarlet Tour” along with Doechii, which kicks off in San Fransisco on October 31.
In her new interview with Complex, Ice Spice states she doesn’t consider herself a lyricist: “It’s funny because Hype [Williams] was just trying to call me a lyricist,” she said. “I wouldn’t consider myself a lyricist. Obviously, lyrics go into music and I do think about them, and I do be having bars in my music, but they’re just super simple. I want them to be digestible, I don’t want them to fly over people’s heads and they never catch it. I want people to hear it right away and be like, ‘OK, that was cute.’ But it’s also fun at the same time.”
