Eminem unleashes comeback single “Houdini”.
Eminem finally makes his return to the music as he releases his comeback single “Houdini” which is produced by Luis Resto & Eminem himself. The magic-inspired single was announced recently, and it kicked off the campaign for his next album “The Death of Slim Shady“, which was announced last month, and releasing this summer. The rapper also dropped an accompanying music video, where he pays homage to his old slim shady visuals, featuring Dr. Dre, 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg and other affiliates. The visual also features a cameo from his three daughters Hailie, Alaina and Stevie.
In the magic-inspired animated artwork, it reads: “Guess who’s back? and for my last trick…” The single is titled after Harry Houdini, a popular magician known for his death-defying stunts, and passed away at the age of 52 in 1926.
Earlier this week, the rapper announced the single with a promo clip featuring magician David Blaine, as the two interact in a Facetime video. “How far can we go with this magic? Can we do a stunt or something?” the Detroit rapper asks Blaine. David responds by sipping on a glass of wine, before taking a bite on the glass, to which Eminem responds: “well for my last trick, I’m gonna make my career disappear.” The term “last trick” is likely a reference to what may be his final album released under the moniker of “Slim Shady.”
