Drake shares a snippet of a new song “Fair Trade”.
Certified Lover Boy was planned to be released a long time ago, but it wasn’t meant to be. Drake was supposed to drop his highly anticipated “Certified Lover Boy” album back in January but pushed back as he was recovering from his knee injury. Now it looks like the project is closing in as the Toronto rap star Drake shares a snippet of a new song called “Fair Trade“. Early in the morning, he posted a studio clip on his IG where he’s looking at footage of a glacier while producer 40 is working on the mix.
Drizzy captioned the video with the phrase “Fair Trade,” which might be the title of the song. Drake raps in the snippet, “I’ve been losing friends and finding peace/ But honestly that sound like a fair trade to me.” “Imitation isn’t flattery, it’s just annoying me/ And I’m too about it/ And the dirt that they threw on my name turned to soil and I grew up out it,” he adds.
Drizzy recently joined forces with Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne on the song called “Seeing Green“. Earlier this month, it was also announced that Drake will Receive Billboard’s Artist of the Decade Award.
With the release of his Scary Hours 2 EP in March, he also made Billboard history. The album’s three singles, “What’s Next,” “Wants and Needs” with Lil Baby, and “Lemon Pepper Freestyle” with Rick Ross, debuted at No. 1, 2, and 3 on the Billboard Hot 100, respectively, a feat no other artist has achieved.
