Coi Leray enlists Nicki Minaj for new single “Blick Blick”.
After announcing it earlier this week, Coi Leray returns to the music scene as she connects with Nicki Minaj for the new single called “Blick Blick”. There will be a music video of the song released later today, and it is taken off from Leray’s upcoming album “Trendsetter”, which is dropping on April 8th. This follows up Coi Leray’s previous offering “Twinnem” remix with DaBaby.
“One and the two, give a f**k about the next few / Step one, cross me, there won’t be a step two / Come through with some bi**hes that’s bad / They gon’ step, too / Every ni**a tryna pop, ain’ the next Woo / Don’t run up in my DM, R.I.P. to X too,” raps Minaj.
Coi previously won a platinum certificate for ‘No More Parties,’ and a gold plaque for ‘Big PURR,’ featuring Pooh Shiesty. Trendsetter, her debut album, is due out shortly on Republic Records. Coi’s most recent song, “Anxiety,” was released in January, and the anticipation for her future album, which will follow her 2019 EP EC2, is building.
Following the controversy surrounding the record, the existence of which was exposed by Coi’s father Benzino during a Clubhouse session, Nicki confirmed on Twitter that she “did withdraw” the verse but that “the label hit me going hard.” Fortunately, she changed her mind. “But rlly I had a private convo w/ Coi & that’s what changed my mind. Not the label,” Nicki said. “I just felt bad that she was robbed of telling the world in her own way @ her own time. But that’s water under the bridge now. Good vibes all 2022.”
