Westside Gunn drops new project ‘Peace “Fly” God’.
Westside Gunn is back with new material as the rapper unleashes his next project titled ‘Peace “Fly” God’. The highly anticipated album contains 10 records, with production from Madlib, Don Carrera, Daringer, and Conductor Williams. The project features guest appearances from Stove God Cooks and Estee Nac.
“I’m back in the states and the homies pulled right up on me, now the tape is complete!!!!! Idgaf about the mix or the master I wanna keep that sh*t grimey af, so I’m dropping this Fri f**k it… this not the Album this a ART piece before MICHELLE RECORDS,” he wrote while announcing the project.
It is a follow-up to his last year’s “Hitler Wears Hermes 8: Sincerely, Adolf” album. The project featured guest appearances from Conway The Machine, Benny The Butcher, Jadakiss, Lil Wayne, and more.
Previously, the Hitler Wears Hermes 8 rapper was in Paris with his kid during Paris Fashion Week. While on tour, Gunn posted a sweet video of a fan contact he had at his hotel. In the video, a waiter recognises Gunn and tells him that he’s one of his inspirations and favourite musicians. Before meeting Gunn’s kid and the rest of his team, he goes on to describe some of his favourite songs and lines by him. As he pours them champagne, Gunn compliments the server’s graffiti painting.
The record, which was produced by Don Carrera, the enigmatic Madlib, and Daringer (who came up with the outro “Flip V. Phil” starring Eastside Flip), seems exceedingly unpolished and unfinished, much less polished & attention to detail. Although this method doesn’t always detract from the lyrics, at times it sounds flat.
