Tory Lanez drops a new album ‘DAYSTAR’, addresses Megan Thee Stallion.
After giving us ‘The New Toronto 3‘ in April, Tory Lanez returns with some new material as he drops a brand new album called “DAYSTAR“. Tory has been quiet since the incident of him shooting Megan Thee Stallion but today he breaks his silence through his new project which he announced yesterday where he tweeted, “To my fans … I’m sorry for my silence …. but respectfully .. I got time today …… 9 PM PST.”
Tory Lanez was detained in Hollywood Hills on July 12 for having a hidden handgun in his vehicle, according to DAYSTAR. Megan Thee Stallion was reportedly there at the time of his arrest, according to TMZ. There was significant conjecture that Tory Lanez shot Megan Thee Stallion when she revealed she had gunshot wounds in her foot at the scene.

The project contains 17 tracks with a lone guest appearance from Yoko Gold on two tracks. On the album’s first track, “Money Over Fallouts,” Tory addresses Megan predicament. Megan’s squad, he believes, is attempting to frame him for the shooting “H* caught me D’d up, talk down, we T’ing up/Megan people tryna frame me for a shootin’, but them boys ain’t clean enough/I see how they teamin’ up, watchin’ and I’m calculatin’/Gotta keep it quiet, I can’t jeopardize the outcome waitin’/Seein’ certain ni**as hatin’, like, how this ni**a hatin’?/I done gave these people so much features, made these ni**as famous/They was on the blog sayin’ I’m canceled from this entertainment/I was on that Spotify like 30 million monthly listeners, I’m f**kin’ goin’ crazy,” he raps. He also makes several references to Kehlani, mentioning how she left him off of a deluxe edition of her album It Was Good Until It Wasn’t. On “Bittersweet,” he raps, “Don’t take me off the deluxe album that no one gives a f**k about.”
Megan also provided further information about the July 12 event during the Instagram Live session, indicating that there were four individuals in the SUV when an argument broke out. Megan stated that she then got out of the car to get away from the argument. She then claimed that she was standing outside the automobile when Tory Lanez fired at her while he was still inside. Megan stated that she had to have surgery to have shrapnel removed from her bullet wounds.
Daystar earned 36,000 album-equivalent units (including 2,000 copies as traditional album sales) in its first week and debuted at number 10 on the US Billboard 200 chart. Despite being the lowest Billboard 200 start of his career, this was Lanez’s sixth album to enter the top 10 on the list. That week, the album’s tracks received a total of 47.7 million on-demand plays.
