Styles P drops the new album “Ghosting” feat Lavish, Dyce Payne & others.
Styles P made his return to the music scene last month with the release of a new single “Scattered” and now the legendary New York rapper has dropped his fourteenth solo album called “Ghosting“. The project is a follow-up to last year’s “Styles David: Ghost Your Enthusiasm“. Last year, Styles P and his group The LOX also dropped the album called “Living Off Xperience“.
The new album contains a pack of 14 new tracks with guest appearances from Yemi Sauce on “Fade Away”, Mrs Farma on “Only Spenders”, Dyce Payne on “On The Double”, and Lavish Life on “Stop The Rain”.
Styles P has been on both Peter Rosenberg and Lloyd Banks’ recent projects, so this isn’t the first time we’ve heard from him this year. P also said last year that he has an unreleased song with Mac Miller.
The Yonkers icon continues the pace this week by dropping a brand-new video for “Hit Different,” a project supported by Official Luxury Music and Perb in which he raps about his contributions to freestyle, his health, and other topics: Styles P performs the song on a spaceship and on a type of planet as an enormous extraterrestrial surrounds him in the accompanying clip for “Hit Different,” which was shot and edited by Nicholas Siegel. Another clip has him at a cinema theatre while vintage Mike Tyson video plays in the background.
“I have a song with Mac Miller I never heard I [believed] Neptune’s produced it,” he wrote. “I don’t know if it came out and I missed it or they never released it. Would love to hear it.” It’s fascinating to watch how Styles has adapted to the changing musical landscape while maintaining his unique sound. Gully bars will always remain a part of the D Block experience for the veteran. On “Privilege,” he shows off his poetic prowess, which leads into the hazy jazz trip “Hit Different.” The middle portion is kept active with a flurry of features from MRS Farma, Lavish Life, and Dyce Payne, and while hearing autotune on “Stop The Rain” may be startling at first, P maintains it grounded with a rough and menacing performance.
