Young Thug drops his debut album “So Much Fun” feat, Lil Baby, Lil Uzi Vert & others.
After recently giving us J. Cole and Travis Scott’s assisted ‘The London‘ recently, Young Thug decided to finally release his debut album called ‘So Much Fun‘. The 19 track star-studded album features guest appearances from Gunna, Lil Baby, Lil Uzi Vert, 21 Savage, Quavo, Juice WRLD, NAV, and more.
Young Thug released So Much Fun, capping up a summer in which the beloved rapper seemed to finally be having his own superstar moment. The album opened at Number One on the Rolling Stone Top 200 Albums chart, and Thug also had two Number Ones on the Top 100 Songs chart, the first for his guest appearance on Post Malone’s “Goodbyes” and the second for a Travis Scott-assisted remix of his song “Hot.”
Thug has been teasing the album for months, reassuring fans that he was in “album mode,” releasing snippets of unreleased tracks, and announcing the change in title from #GØŁDMØÜFDÖG to “So Much Fun”.
The “Boy Back” video was directed by Cash XO and features Thugger and Nav in Nav’s hometown of Toronto. The video shows the duo playing the song outside a graffiti-covered wall, as well as Thugger spitting his verse in a high-end hotel room and Nav spitting his as he cruises about the city.
With 131,000 album-equivalent units, So Much Fun debuted at the top of the US Billboard 200. (including 5,000 pure album sales). It marks Young Thug’s fifth appearance in the top 10 and his first US number-one album (or sixth, if the 2018 compilation Slime Language is counted). The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) awarded the album platinum certification on June 29, 2020 for cumulative sales and album-equivalent units of over one million in the US.
Update: “Diamonds,” featuring Gunna, “Hop Off a Jet,” featuring Travis Scott, and two solo tracks, “Die Today” and “Millions,” are among the four new tracks on the So Much Fun deluxe version. All streaming services have the deluxe edition accessible.
