Yelawolf drops the ‘Ghetto Cowboy’ album.
After giving us ‘Trunk Muzik 3‘ earlier this year, Yelawolf returns with his another new album called ‘Ghetto Cowboy‘. The project contains 14 tracks with no guest appearances.
“This Ghetto Cowboy album has been the most gratifying to me as an artist being that it’s my first indie release on my own label,” he said in a press release. “I have no one to answer to and that can be a scary responsibility.” Yela quoted.
Yelawolf’s second album of 2019 will be Ghetto Cowboy. He wrapped up his time on Shady in March with the third installment of his Trunk Muzik series. “After Love Story, Trial By Fire, and then Trunk Muzik 3, I feel like I got a well-rounded project that speaks to all the fans; hip hop, rock’n’roll, and southern fans alike,” he continues. “I ain’t reinventing the wheel here, just doing what I love to do, doing what I think is dope and original. I never want to stop challenging the genre or the listener or become complacent or settled cause that’s boring as f**k to me and the fans. G.C. is unapologetic, brutally honest and at times completely vulnerable.”
At least sonically, Yela’s latest finds him harkening back to the days of Love Story. A plethora of guitar arrangements build a luscious and distinctively local ambiance that only Yelawolf could possibly achieve. From the hard-hitting “UNK” to the tight dissatisfaction of “Renegades,” both his flow and vocals are in good shape, a testament to his creative explosion; all the right boxes are checked.
He already released the videos for ‘Unnatural Born Killer‘ and ‘Opie Taylor‘. Stream the new album below.
