Wiz Khalifa drops a new project ‘It’s Only Weed Bro’.
After giving us the visual for ‘Chappelle’s Show‘ earlier this month, Wiz Khalifa continues releasing new material as he released a new free project called ‘It’s Only Weed Bro‘. The project contains 7 new songs.
The Taylor Gang boss man flosses his distinctive flows over some legendary samples on this seven-song release. Mobb Deep’s “Survival of the Fittest,” Weldon Irvine’s “Morning Sunrise,” which was notably used for Jay-“Dear Z’s Summer,” and Atlantic Starr’s “Silver Shadow” are among the retro tracks.
Weed is a big topic, as it always is, along with Khalifa’s hip-hop reputation, his girlfriends, his fortune, his jet-set lifestyle, and all the other usual stuff. The feel, on the other hand, is fantastic. On the seven-song, 17-minute mixtape, Khalifa, dressed in fur and wielding a cane on the cover, delivers out some of his sweetest rhythms, ranging from ‘70s blaxploitation-style soul to the boom-bap of “Vanity Fair” and the ‘80s synth-pop of “Big Shadow.”
Wiz is right in the pocket when it comes to delivery and bars, with his typical combination of drugs, ladies, and wanderlust. He informs the Taylors that he hasn’t missed a step on “Smoking Section,” which samples Common’s “The 6th Sense.” “You might think I got time to kill cuz I’m so real / a lot of ni***s I could checked this year but I’ma chill / I don’t have to say they fake in time they will / when it come to being certified I’m signed and sealed”.
