Tinashe drops her new album ‘Joyride’ feat Future, Offset & others.
Tinashe‘s new project is finally here. The new album which is titled ‘Joyride‘ is packed with 13 new songs. The album features guest appearances from Future, Offset, Ty Dolla Sign, French Montana, and more.
While Joyride is unquestionably the start of a new era for the 25-year-old musician, it took longer to complete than anticipated. One-off songs like “Flame” and “Superlove” came and went in 2015, as did a tour for the non-existent album, which was planned and then cancelled, and she even issued a free mixtape (the superb Nightride). Joyride was beginning to feel more like a music business urban legend than an actual record, a type of cautionary tale for emerging musicians about the risks of mismanagement, as fans’ patience wore thin.
Joyride peaked at number 58 on the US Billboard 200 for the week of April 28, 2018, selling 9,800 album-equivalent units, 4,710 of which were pure sales. The very same week, she debuted at number 12 on the Digital Album Sales list, which rates the best 50 pure album sales for the week. The album sales are lower than expected, with 15,000–20,000 album-equivalent units expected to be sold, with 5,000–7,000 being pure sales.
