NF drops his new mixtape “CLOUDS”.
While fans await the follow-up to his #1 album “The Search” from 2019, the Gladwin, Michigan rapper-singer has released a new single called “Clouds” today. He famously defeated Chance The Rapper for the number one spot on the Billboard 200 in July 2019, selling 130k copies in the first week. After giving us his long-awaited collaboration with Hopsin called “LOST“, NF continues releasing new material as he drops his brand new mixtape called “Clouds“. He announced the project with the release of the title track last month.
The mixtape is NF’s first collection of music after his No. 1 album, The Search, was published. “Clouds” is ranked #53 on this week’s all-genre Hot 100, thanks to strong sales and streaming activity during its first full week of release. Radio activity is also shown in the graph, but it was not a factor in the NF release. “Clouds” is this week’s top new entry, coming in at #53. It’s NF’s sixth chart appearance in his career.
NF raps in the new song that, while mixtapes aren’t his thing, he admits that it’s too exhausting to keep songs for so long. “Mixtapes aren’t my thing but it’s been awfully / exhausting, hanging onto song as long as daunting,” NF raps. The rapper’s first new song in 2021 is “Clouds,” which follows the release of his poignant track “Chasing (Demo)” in October 2020, which featured 15-year-old Australian fan Mikayla Sippel.
The project contains 11 tracks with an additional guest appearance from the legendary Tech N9ne. Stream the entire thing below.
