Missy Elliott drops her new project ‘ICONOLOGY’ feat Sum 1.
After announcing it earlier today, Missy Elliott has released her comeback project called ‘ICONOLOGY‘. The project contains 5 new songs with a guest appearance from Sum1. The iconic artist appeared on Lizzo’s ‘Tempo‘ a few months ago.
“Throw It Back,” “Cool Off,” “DripDemeanor (feat. Sum1),” “Why I Still Love You,” and a cappella version of the latter are among the tracks on the album. Teyana Taylor gives a young girl a tour through Elliott’s historic career in the pink-tinged music video “Hall of Missy,” showing her the many decades of Elliott’s iconic career.
The Cookbook was published in 2005 from Missy’s last album. She was honored with an honorary Ph.D. at Berklee College of Music earlier this year and was introduced to the hall of fame of songwriters.
Elliott wrote on Twitter yesterday night (August 22) about his new album, ‘Iconology,’ which he co-produced with Timbaland and Wili Hendrix. “This year has been a tremendous year for me… I am humbled and grateful. THANK YOU for allowing me to smell the roses. You, my fans, and God are the reason I am here and have celebrated every milestone with me! So, I have a SURPRISE for you…”
