Lupe Fiasco drops new album ‘Drogas Wave’ Feat Nikki Jean, Crystal Torres & others.
Lupe Fiasco returns with his new project as he released the new album called DROGAS WAVE. The project has been released a week earlier because it was leaked a couple of days ago on the internet. The album contains 24 tracks with guest appearances from Nikki Jean, Crystal Torres, Damian Marley and more.
Fiasco’s new album was supposed to be released on September 28th, but due to unanticipated leaks, the artist had to move the release date up to September 21st.
Lupe explained, “Drogas Wave is based on a story about a group of slaves that jumped off of a slave ship transporting them from Africa,” “The slaves did not drown, and instead somehow managed to live under the sea. They spent the rest of their underwater existence sinking slave ships. The Spanish word for drugs is ‘drogas.’ “Don’t Ruin Us, God Said,” I came up with as an abbreviation.”
With 11,099 copies sold in its first week, Drogas Wave debuted at number 60 on the US Billboard 200.
Lupe has been tweeting raps on the timeline for the last day or two, saying that “Champagne Poetry” was his favourite song from Drake’s new album Certified Lover Boy, and even requesting followers to hand him over the beat if they discover it. It’s unclear if the bars Lupe is tweeting would work over Drizzy’s new music, but he appears to be merely cracking his knuckles.
