Lil Wayne & Rich The Kid releases joint project “Trust Fund Babies”.
After an official announcement last week, Lil Wayne and Rich The Kid join forces for a new joint album called “Trust Fund Babies“. The short project contains 10 records, with songs likes “Trust Fund”, “Big Boss”, “Feelin’ Like Tunechi” and more. The lone guest appearance comes from YG, who assists Lil Wayne and Rich The Kid on “Buzzin”. Lil Wayne and YG were recently also featured on Logic’s “Perfect” Remix.
Lil Wayne had been putting out a lot of guest verses throughout the year, and he is currently working on two more projects, which was revealed by Young Money President Mack Maine. “I mean anybody that’s like a Wayne fan knows that “I Am Not A Human Being 3” is coming soon,” Mack said. “Wayne and Rich The Kid have a project together that’s coming out soon. “ColleGrove 2” with 2 Chainz is coming out soon. Yeah so there’s lot of music wayne is working on.”
The 10-track effort is anticipated to generate between 12 and 15,000 total album-equivalent units, according to Chart Data. In comparison, Rich The Kid’s collaborative project with NBA YoungBoy, Nobody Safe, garnered over 19,000 total album-equivalent units in its first week of release in November 2020. The sales response to Trust Fund Babies is a significant setback for Wayne’s Billboard chart supremacy. The New Orleans rapper hasn’t had an official album debut outside the Top 20 since Tha Block Is Hot in 1999. All of them have been certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America, with the exception of Funeral and the Free Weezy Album (RIAA).
