Kanye West & Kid Cudi releases new album ‘Kids See Ghosts’ feat, Louis Prima.
After a listening party for family, friends, and a section of media, Kanye West and Kid Cudi have officially released their new joint project ‘Kids See Ghosts‘. The 7 track album has only one guest appearance from Louis Prima.
Last night, the album Kids See Ghosts was launched during a listening session in Los Angeles, which was live broadcast on the WAV app. The artists credited include André 3000, Louis Prima, and Ty Dolla Sign. Pusha-T and a Kurt Cobain sample were included in last night’s listening party. Takashi Murakami designed the artwork for the front cover. Kanye West’s Kids See Ghosts follows ye, which he premiered at a listening session in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, a week ago.
A guest verse by Pusha-T is on the opening track. Track 3 starts with an early sample of jazz. Kanye referred to the Offred character “The Handmaid’s Tale” at one point in the song. On the fourth, both Kanye and Cudi declare, “I feel free to think nothing is harming me anymore.” Path 5 is based on the phrase “continue to proceed.” The sixth track starts with someone who sings “children sometimes perceive fantasies.” A large exhibition of “Burn the Rain” from Kurt Cobain starts the seventh and last track (from the Montage of Heck companion album). The names and credits of the official track are not yet finalized.
Over a decade ago Kanye West and Kid Cudi worked closely together, starting with Cudi signing in 2008 for his G.O.D. Music print. In the ’80s and Heartbreaks, Cudi had a major role and worked with him on the last six albums, featuring in tunes like “Father Stretch My Hands, Pt. 1,” “All the Lights” and, more recently, “Ghost Town” on the new album of Kanye West. Now, the forces for an album are formally unified.
