Joey Badass drops the new “ALL-AMERIKKKAN BADA$$” album.
Joey Badass returns with his latest project as he dropped the “ALL-AMERIKKKAN BADA$$” album. The project contains 12 tracks with features from J. Cole, ScHoolboy Q, Styles P, and more.
Bada$$ has been releasing a rush of sick freestyles in the build-up to the album. The first saw him go in over a classic J. Cole and Miguel rhythm, while the second had him completely rip it up over Future’s “Mask Off,”. He dropped “Rockabye Baby,” a chilling duet with ScHoolboy Q, last week. All-AmeriKKKan Bada$$ will be the adept lyricist’s first release since his 2015 effort B4.Da.$$. His debut album debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard 200.
“Devastated,” the album’s lead song, was released on May 27, 2016. Powers Pleasant, Kirk Knight, and Adam Pallin produced the song. The second single from the album, “Land of the Free,” was released on January 20, 2017.
Kirk Knight and Adam Pallin, who also worked on Joey’s debut hit, produced the song. The accompanying music video for the song was uploaded on Pro Era’s YouTube account on March 6, 2017. On April 3, 2017, Joey played the tune on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. On June 13, 2017, the album’s third single, “Temptation,” was released to urban contemporary radio. 1-900 and Kirk Knight collaborated on the song’s production.
The album opened at number five on the US Billboard 200 with 51,000 album-equivalent units, 28,000 of which were pure album sales.
Joey Bada$$ teased fans with his three-song package, The Light Pack, in Summer 2020, and in September of same year, he took to Twitter to inform fans on his forthcoming album. “My album fire,” he wrote. “85% done w. See y’all soon. I finished this album like 3 times but I promise this the last time… hopefully.”
