Jadakiss drops his new album ‘Ignatius’ feat Pusha T, 2 Chainz & others.
Jadakiss returns with new material as he drops his brand new album ‘Ignatius‘. The project contains 13 tracks with guest appearances from Pusha T, Ty Dolla Sign, 2 Chainz, Rick Ross, DeJ Loaf, John Legend, and more.
The album was supposed to be released on February 28, but the 44-year-old rapper opted to postpone it in honor of his close buddy Pop Smoke, who was slain at his Hollywood Hills home in February.
“Yeah, we held back to pay respect for Pop Smoke, the untimely passing and demise of Pop Smoke…We actually pulled that song back and we pulled the project back as well [by] a week. Instead of February 28, the album is gon’ come out March 6.” The song, the video is very artsy but it’s a little crazy so, just to pay respect and shed light on that whole…you know” said Jadakiss.
The album is dedicated to his late friend and manager, Ignatius “Ice Pick Jay” Jackson, who died of cancer in 2017. Despite these setbacks, IGNATIUS is a tribute to Icepick’s life, with everything from the guest appearances to the production chosen as if the late-manager executive produced the album. Kiss even stretches his rapping voice into unknown terrain on tracks like “Keep It 100” and “Angel’s Getting Pedicured.”
“Huntin Season,” which features a verse by Pusha-T, is one of the album’s highlight tunes. The track is about pursuing rival rappers.
