Freddie Gibbs & Alchemist drops a new album ‘Alfredo’ feat, Benny, The Butcher, Conway & others.
After a joint album with Madlib ‘Bandana‘ last year, Freddie Gibbs returns with another new project called ‘Alfredo‘ which is a joint effort with producer Alchemist. The project contains 10 tracks with guest appearances from Benny The Butcher, Conway The Machiner, Rick Ross, and Tyler, The Creator.
In the film’s cinematic visuals, Gibbs and Alchemist are shown as drug-dealing mobsters, while Freddie raps in a barren field. The title is a combination of the names The Alchemist and Gibbs. Vlad Sepetov designed the record cover, which depicts a hand puppeteering a Fettuccine Alfredo dish. Alfredo’s cover art also reflects the project’s mob mindset, with puppet strings dangling over the pricey pasta, similar to the classic Godfather trilogy’s cover art.
This is the second time Freddie Gibbs and Alchemist have collaborated on a project, the first being Fetti alongside Currensy in 2018. The two also opened their Alfredo store, which features exclusive gear, CDs, vinyl, and a comic book, in addition to the project.
With 30,000 album-equivalent units sold in its first week, Alfredo became both Gibbs’ and The Alchemist’s top album to date in the US and debuted at 15 on the Billboard 200.
Alchemist recently finished another collaborative effort, collaborating with Griselda’s Conway the Machine to assist provide LULU, which was released at the end of March.
