Currensy drops his new project ‘Collection Agency’.
After giving us ‘Misty‘ and ‘Kush Through The Sunroof‘ earlier this month, Currensy continues releasing new material as he drops his first project of 2021 called “Collection Agency“. The project contains 10 tracks with a lone guest appearance from Jet Life Records affiliate Larry June.
Currensy’s smooth opening track, “Kush Through the Sunroof,” gives the impression that he’ll be kicking back and crooning on Collection Agency, but he quickly shifts gears. Finding all of his favourite pockets, the project still delivers all of Currensy’s signature flavours, such as how he adopts a unique flow on “Jermaine Dupri” and then switches it up on “Closing Date.” Meanwhile, Fresh, Fraud, and others do a fantastic job of tying the beats together across Collection Agency.
Currensy’s first album of 2021 features a music video for “Arrival,” which features animated visuals of the rapper performing with a pack of hounds in what appears to be a jazz café. Collection Agency comes to a fitting conclusion with “Misty,” a track that suggests Currensy still has more of his storey to tell at a later date.
Currensy previously appeared on frequent collaborator Smoke DZA’s album Homegrown, which was released in October. The two have a history of working well together, having previously collaborated on DZA’s “Santos House Party.”
