Conway The Machine drops his new album “From King To A God” feat Benny The Butcher, Westside Gunn & others.
After giving us few tracks in the past few weeks, Griselda’s Conway The Machine has released his brand new album called “From King To A God“. The project contains 14 tracks with guest appearances from Benny The Butcher, Westside Gunn, Freddie Gibbs, DeJ Loaf, Method Man, Lloyd Banks, and more. Conway released “No One Mourns the Wicked”, a collaboration record with Big Ghost Ltd, earlier this year. He had previously collaborated with The Alchemist on the “LULU EP”, which was released a month prior.
A couple of days ago, he released the video for Method Man-assisted ‘Lemon‘. “… I’ve been ready for this for a while. To get this project out and get people ready for the Shady Records release, God Don’t Make Mistakes, is really exciting,” Conway told. “… I just hope they see the growth and maturity. That’s why I named it From King to a GOD. This is just different. This is the elevation as a man, as a lyricist, as a father, as everything. From King to a GOD. You feel me?”
Speaking on the new album, Conway said: “Typically, when I create an album, I tend to focus on being the best rapper and having the best bars. With ‘From King To A GOD’, I wanted to show growth; how much I’ve grown as an artist and how much I’ve grown as a man.”
Conway acknowledges that this album is intended to serve as a kind of taster for his upcoming Shady Records debut, God Don’t Make Mistakes, which will usher in a radical transition for both him and Griselda as a whole. And he’ll need a song that pushes the Griselda sound above the confines of Buffalo’s frigid streets if he wants to shed the genre-rapper label and go to the next stage of popularity.
“Fear of God” with Dej Loaf, “Front Lines,” “Seen Everything But Jesus” with Freddie Gibbs, and the Method Man-assisted “Lemon” are among the previously released tracks on FKTG. Conway’s fellow Griselda members Benny the Butcher and Westside Gunn, as well as Lloyd Banks, El Camino, Armani Caesar, and others, make appearances.
