The Star-Studded ‘Black Panther’ soundtrack is here.
The official soundtrack for the “Black Panther” movie is here which is executive produced by Kendrick Lamar and TDE. The OST has 14 tracks with music from K. Dot, SZA, ScHoolboy Q, 2 Chainz, Khalid, Swae Lee, Vince Staples, Travis Scott, Future, Jay Rock, The Weeknd, AB-Soul, and more.
On Wednesday afternoon, Lamar, who co-produced and selected the 14-song soundtrack with Top Dawg Entertainment CEO Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith, tweeted a snapshot of the album art and tracklist. The chart-topping rapper appears on five songs, including the Travis Scott-assisted “Big Shot,” the Weeknd-assisted “Pray for Me,” and a solo cut, “Black Panther,” which includes previously released singles “All the Stars” featuring SZA and “King’s Dead” featuring Jay Rock, Future, and James Blake, as well as the Travis Scott-assisted “Big Shot,” the Weeknd-assisted “Pray for Me,” and a solo cut.
On February 9, 2018, Interscope Records released Lamar’s soundtrack as Black Panther: The Album, which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 list. Many critics hailed it as a watershed moment for cinema soundtracks because of its concepts and lyrics, although it was criticised by some as being lesser than his solo work. On February 16, Hollywood Records released Göransson’s soundtrack as Black Panther (Original Score), and it gained accolades for being unique among Marvel Cinematic Universe compositions owing to its real African influences and thematic themes.
With 154,000 equivalent album units, including 52,000 from pure album sales, the soundtrack album opened at number one on the US Billboard 200. In its second week, it stayed at number one, selling 131,000 equivalent album units, including 40,000 from pure album sales.
