Big K.R.I.T. drops the “K.R.I.T. IZ HERE” Project.
After announcing it last month, Big K.R.I.T. has released his new album called ‘K.R.I.T. IZ HERE‘. The project contains 19 tracks with guest appearances from Lil Wayne, Saweetie, Rico Love, J. Cole, and more.
The latest project by K.R.I.T. Iz Here, K.R.I.T. is wonderfully pleasant, marvelously truthful, reliably dependable, and dependably predictable, as he always is. The album is purportedly a follow-up to his breakout project from 2010, and the title’s homage to the past only adds to that.
But, unlike 2017’s 4Eva Is a Mighty Long Time, where K.R.I.T. scarcely acknowledged current trends, on K.R.I.T. Iz Here, he tries to branch out a little bit as well. “I Been Waitin” borrows shamelessly from Travis Scott’s art-house trap with its sophisticated, nervy sound. “K.R.I.T. Here,” the album’s first track, harnesses Chance the Rapper and Donnie Trumpet’s jazzy delight.
