21 Savage drops new album ‘I Am > I Was’ feat Childish Gambino, ScHoolboy Q & others.
21 Savage finally released his new album ‘I Am > I Was‘ which was supposed to drop last month. The project contains 15 tracks with guest appearances from J. Cole, Childish Gambino, ScHoolboy Q, Offset, and more.
“Pray for Tekashi / They want him to rot / I see him inside a cell on a cot / Reflecting on how he got to the top / Wondering if it was worth it or not,” J. Cole raps on the first track, “A Lot.” Below is a link to the new album, which you can listen to. On ‘Monster,’ Schoolboy Q appears on ‘Good Day,’ City Girls appear on ‘A&T,’ Post Malone appears on ‘All My Friends,’ Offset appears on ‘1.5,’ Young Nudy appears on ‘4L,’ and Gunna and Lil Baby appear on ‘Can’t Leave Without It.’
21 Savage recently appeared on Metro Boomin’s album Not All Heroes Wear Capes, but he hasn’t released a solo album since his debut album Issa Album in 2017. He also collaborated with Offset and Metro Boomin’ on the album Without Warning last year.
The hits “A Lot” and “Monster” served as I Am > I Was’s backbone. The album debuted at the top of the US Billboard 200 with 131,000 album-equivalent units, of which 18,000 were pure sales. It garnered high praise from reviewers and did well financially. At the 2020 Grammy Awards, it was up for Best Rap Album.
