Ne-Yo Drops Deluxe Version of Debut Album In My Own Words To Celebrate 15th Anniversary

Ne-Yo drops “In My Own Words” deluxe edition feat Rick Ross.

It’s been 15 years since Ne-Yo released his debut album ‘In My Own Words‘ and to celebrate the occasion, he has dropped a new deluxe version of the project. The new version contains 6 bonus records with a guest appearance from Rick Ross on ‘Stay (Remix)‘.

Gotta change my answering machine, now that I’m alone Cause right now it says that we, can’t come to the phone And I know it makes no sense, ‘cause you walked out the door But it’s the only way I hear your voice anymore.

The deluxe edition of the album, which will be released on Friday, February 26th via UME/Def Jam, will include six bonus tracks, including the previously retail-exclusive track “Girlfriend,” “Stay (Remix)” (which was released on the Japanese version of In My Own Words), two live acoustic performances of the hit singles “So Sick” and “Sexy Love” (with accompanying videos, filmed live from The Compound in Atlanta).

Ne-Yo will also release a documentary about his life since In My Own Words catapulted him to fame 15 years ago. The film explores his relationship with his wife, his performance at George Floyd’s funeral, and his artistic inspiration.

In 2018, Ne-Yo released Good Man, which included the singles “Good Man” and “Push Back.” In 2020, he collaborated with Jamaican dancehall artist Charly Black on the charity single “Over Again.” The singer recently finished his fourth and final season as a judge on NBC’s World of Dance competition show, and he also competed on the British version of The Masked Singer, finishing second to Josh Stone.
