NAV unleashes new album “Demons Protected By Angels”.
NAV continues putting out new material as he finally releases his brand new album “Demons Protected By Angels”. The project is his fourth studio effort, and a follow-up to 2020’s “Good Intentions“. In 2020, NAV also linked up with producer Wheezy for a mixtape called “Emergency Tsunami” with guest appearances from Gunna, Young Thug, Lil Baby, and more.
The new album feature 19 tracks, laced with the previously released “Never Sleep” featuring Travis Scott & Lil Baby, and a solo effort “Wrong Decisions”. The other guest appearances come from Lil Uzi Vert, Future, Don Toliver, Gunna, Lil Durk, Bryson Tiller, Babyface Ray and more.
“The album title was inspired by a sweater that my friend had made. And I’ve begged him to get the sweater. I was like, ‘Yo, I wanna wear your sh*t and support my friend’s stuff.’ So he brought it out and it had that on the back of the sweater. And it was very meaningful to me, because he came up with that himself when his mom passed away about a year ago. So I was like, ‘Wow, that’s even better,'” he told Complex. “So that’s why we came up with it.”
The XO Records musician came out to Apple Music 1 about going silent creatively following his 2020 releases Emergency Mixtape, Brown Boy 2, and Good Intentions. “It was really tough sitting at home for these years. Two years, not dropping. A lot of things happened in the last mixtape. When I dropped it, the election and, rest in peace, [King Von] died. Just a lot of… I feel like I had to be quiet for a long time and now I’m ready,” he said. “Just f***ing scream at the top of my lungs. I get quiet by just staying in the studio, locking in, perfecting in, and my fans are really impatient sometimes and be like, ‘Oh, come on, drop, drop, drop.’ I’m really trying to get it perfect. And I’m a producer, too. So I’m doing the production side. I’m doing the engineering side. I’m doing everything.”
