Maroon 5 drops their new album “Jordi” as a tribute to Late Manager.
After announcing it last month, Maroon 5 has released their new seventh studio album called “Jordi“. The title of the project is named after their manager Beanie Feldstein, who passed away in 2017. “We thought there was no better tribute than to name the album after our boy,” Adam Levine said on the Ellen DeGeneres Show. The project is boosted by the lead single “Beautiful Mistakes” with Megan Thee Stallion.
Maroon 5’s Megan Thee Stallion collaboration, “Beautiful Mistakes,” will be included in the collection, and the band has also announced a virtual concert to promote the album’s release. The band teased the fans by releasing a sneak peek of the next virtual performance. On the 4th of June, Maroon 5 will perform ‘American Express UNSTAGED with Maroon 5′, which will include songs from their upcoming new album.
The album contains 14 tracks with posthumous guest appearances from Juice WRLD and Nipsey Hussle, along with YG, H.E.R., and more.
Feldstein isn’t the only late-career musician honoured in the new collection. On “Can’t Leave You Alone,” Juice WRLD is acknowledged with an assist, as is Nipsey Hussle on the remix of “Memories,” a tearjerker tribute to Feldstein.
“This album is named after our manager,” Levine wrote on Instagram. “We built this thing together. A piece of me will always be missing. The loss is tragic in ways I’m still learning how to cope with. All I can do is keep him with me and honor him in the best way I know how. I miss him every single day.”
Levine also spoke with DeGeneres about their long friendship on her show, how much he enjoyed quarantining at home with his wife and daughters, the painful waxing he had to go through before the lengthy process of getting his new full left-leg tattoo, and his final thoughts on Blake Shelton’s upcoming wedding to Gwen Stefani.
