The Weeknd drops the new “Starboy” album.
As promised, The Weeknd drops his latest Album which is Titled “Starboy“. the album is packed up with 18 tracks. The music features came up from Kendrick Lamar, Daft Punk, Future & Lana Del Ray. While Cashmere Cat recently Reveals he produced 4 tracks from the album.
Abel Tesfaye’s third studio album, ‘Starboy,’ follows 2015’s ‘Beauty Behind The Madness,’ 2013’s breakthrough ‘Kiss Land,’ and the R&B singer’s 2012’Trilogy’ of mixtapes.
While the last month, the singer already announces his upcoming “Legend Of The Fall” World Tour which begins in Feb. 2017 in Europe.
The short film Mania, which he created and shot with regular collaborator Grant Singer, was released earlier this week and contains previews of tracks from the upcoming album.
“It wasn’t just a random Kendrick Lamar verse, it was something special because again, I don’t like to say this all the time, but we’ve known each other for a while and it’s crazy how we started connecting on this record,” he told Zane Lowe.

The Weeknd performed as a musical guest on Saturday Night Live’s season 42 premiere. He promoted the album by singing “Starboy” and “False Alarm” live on stage, as well as appearing in a cameo on the “Weekend Update” sketch, when he revealed his new hairstyle. The Weeknd performed “Starboy” during the 2016 American Music Awards on November 20, 2016. The Weeknd performed “I Feel It Coming” and “Starboy” on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon four days later. On December 6, he appeared on CBS to perform at the 2016 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. The Weeknd and Daft Punk performed at the 2017 Grammy Awards on February 12, 2017.
Starboy opened at number one on the Billboard 200 in the United States with 348,000 album-equivalent units, 209,000 of which were pure album sales. In the United States, it was the third-largest debut sales week of 2016, the second-largest week for album streaming in history (175.2 million streams, after Drake’s Views), and the Weeknd’s second number one album. Following the album’s release, all 18 tracks were charted on the Billboard Hot 100. It was the second-highest total simultaneous Hot 100 entries at the time after Drake charted 20 singles at the same time in May 2016.
The Weeknd has also announced a series of pop-up stores that will open today and run through the rest of the holiday weekend, just in time for the album’s release.
