John Legend shares his new album “LEGEND”.
John Legend is back with some new material as he releases his eighth studio album “LEGEND” which is released through Republic Records, with executive production by himself and Ryan Tedder. It is a double disc project, and a follow-up to 2020’s “Bigger Love”. Earlier this year, he linked up with Nas and Florian Picasso on “Tomorrow“.
The album contains 24 tracks, with guest appearances from Rick Ross on “Rounds”, JID on “Dope”, Jhene Aiko, Ty Dolla Sign on “Splash”, Jazmine Sullivan on “Love”, Rapsody on “The Other Ones”, Saweetie on “All She Wanna Do”, and more.
The album is the sequel to 2020’s “Bigger Love,” which peaked at No. 19 on the Billboard 200 list.
“Until this point, I’ve never used an aspect of my name as the title of an album,” he said about the title. “I had to earn that, to live up to it by delivering in the performance and the music. And this is me saying, I’m proud of who I am, I’m confident in the work I’ve done, and I’m just going to declare it.”
From October 14 to October 29, he will perform at The Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood as a part of the second leg of his Love in Las Vegas tour.
“Rounds,” a song by Legend and Rick Ross, serves as the album’s opening track. Collaborating with Ross, Legend said to Apple Music, “We got good chemistry.” “His voice and my voice, it just works well together. We like a similar type of track too…A lush soulful track.”
