J.I.D shares his new album “The Forever Story”.
J.I.D has finally released his brand new third studio album “The Forever Story”. The project is a follow-up to his 2018’s critically acclaimed album “DiCaprio 2”, which featured J. Cole, 6LACK, ASAP Ferg, Joey Badass, Ella Mai, and more.
The new 15-track project is laced with recently released “Surround Sound” with 21 Savage & Baby Tate, “Dance Now” with Kenny Mason and more. Recently, he also dropped a track titled “2007” with J. Cole, Ibrahim Hamad & His Father, which doesn’t appear on the project.
The additional guest appearances come from EarthGang on “Can’t Punk Me”, Lil Durk & Mustafa on “Bruddanem”, Ari Lennox on “Can’t Make You Change”, Lil Wayne & Kenny Mason on “Just in time”, Johnta Austin on “Better Days” and more.
“[My family] is basically a part of how I became who I am,” he said in a new interview with Complex. “It gives inklings of why my [mindset] is a certain type of way. I gave more detail and in-depth stories [on this album], but there’s still more layers to be peeled back, which I am going to do because this is going to be a long process of trying to understand me.” “This is just a good piece of the origin story, and this is me finding that space to be more visible and present with words.”
Since releasing his second studio album, Dicaprio 2, in 2018, JID has kept up the pace with features on two compilation albums from Dreamville (Revenge of the Dreamers 2 and D-Day in 2020 and 2022, respectively), as well as his 2020 collaborative album with Spillage Village Spilligion.
