Drake Drops New Scary Hours 2 EP Feat. Lil Baby & Rick Ross

Drake drops the “Scary Hours 2” project.

After a surprise announcement yesterday, Drake has released his new short project called “Scary Hours 2” which is a sequel to his 2018’s 2 song EP which featured ‘God’s Plan‘. The new EP contains 3 tracks called “Wants and Needs” featuring Lil Baby, Rick Ross assisted “Lemon Pepper Freestyle” and a solo “What’s Next“.

In 2018, the first Scary Hours EP was released. “God’s Plan” and “Diplomatic Immunity” were included on the two-track EP, with “God’s Plan” reaching No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Drake’s album Scorpion featured the song as well.

Drake was supposed to release his highly anticipated album ‘Certified Lover Boy‘ in January but it was pushed back as the Toronto rap star is recovering after his surgery for knee injury and rehab.

That much is clear from the new EP. “Scary Hours 2” is entertaining to listen to. Drake sounds irritated in some places and energized in others. And it’s already accomplished its goal of increasing interest in “Certified Lover Boy” in less than 24 hours.

Scary Hours 2” feels more like a prelude than the conclusion. Drake could very well follow through on his promise and retire by his birthday later this year. With each new drop, however, that appears to be an empty promise.

Drake and Kanye have had a tumultuous relationship for years, and it hasn’t always been pleasant. Drake seemed to slam ‘Ye on “Life Is Good” last year, saying, “Ni**as gotta move off my release day, huh.” Drake didn’t seem to have moved on from his beef with ‘Ye, but they could be on the mend now.

Scary Hours 2 is aiming to start with an anticipated 110,000 total equivalent album sales, giving it a shot to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, according to DJ Akademiks. “What’s Next” is “now pacing” for a No. 1 debut on the Billboard Hot 100, according to Chart Data.

The line appears to be a playful dig at Kanye, who just became a born-again Christian and has devoted most of his music career to his beliefs. Many people, however, interpreted the bar as a peace offering. It’s more humorous than some of Drake’s prior diss tracks, such as “Duppy Freestyle.”
