Ari Lennox shares new project “age/sex/location”.
Following the release of her 5 song EP “Away Message” earlier this month, Ari Lennox has finally dropped her new studio album “age/sex/location”. This is a follow-up to her 2019’s debut album “Shea Butter Baby“.
The new album contains 12 tracks, with guest appearances from Summer Walker on “Queen Space”, Chloe on “Leak It”, and Lucky Daye on “Bye Bye”. The Dreamville boss J. Cole also features on the first track “POF” but isn’t credited on the project.
“I asked Ari what this new album means to her,” J. Cole wrote after getting a message from Lennox. “I needed to know cuz I f**k with it so heavy. What I hear is the highs, lows, joys and pains of dating life in 2022. But her answer made it even deeper for me. Appreciate you @arilennox Looking forward to the rest of the world hearing it.”
“Transitional space. Very vulnerable codependent and validation seeking part of my life,” she wrote about the project. “I remember the countless times I was kicked out of dating apps because they didn’t think I was really myself, it reminded me of those age/sex/location days where I actually wasn’t being myself in those chat rooms. This is my eat pray love journey. And it’s my honest goodbye to search for love. I got it right here inside of me.”

The singer shocked her followers with the release of her new EP, Away Message, ahead of the album and provided them with fresh tunes to enjoy in the meantime. The five-track album, which was released last month, was headed by the introduction of “Queen Space” with Summer Walker.
Ari Lennox showed us a board of like 80 songs she had for her next album, she released the tracklist and it only had 12 songs.
We don’t even take in how much work/effort it takes to put an album out. Something I’m going to appreciate more. pic.twitter.com/VLigPsJ9GC
