2 Chainz drops new album ‘Rap or Go To The League’ feat Ariana Grande, Ty Dolla Sign & others.
After announcing it earlier this week, 2 Chainz has released his 5th studio album called ‘Rap or Go The League‘. 2 Chainz announced the release of Rap or Go to the League, his first studio album since 2017’s Pretty Girls Like Trap Music, on social media in early 2018. The 41-year-old rapper announced the news in a brief video in which he explained the meaning of the title as well as the project’s socio-political elements.
The project contains 14 tracks with guest appearances from Kendrick Lamar, Lil Wayne, Travis Scott, Chance The Rapper, Ty Dolla Sign, Ariana Grande, Young Thug & more.
Rap Or Go to the League begins with real audio from one of his high-school basketball games, with his government identity Tauheed Epps announcing him in the starting lineup before the game. Meanwhile, Chainz sang “Forgiven” on The Tonight Show alongside former Floetry member Marsha Ambrosius on Thursday night (Feb. 28).
Rap or Go to the League charted at four on the US Billboard 200 chart in its first week, earning 65,000 album-equivalent units (including 13,000 copies as pure album sales). This was 2 Chainz’s sixth straight top-ten record in the United States. The album also debuted at the top of the US Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums list, marking his third to do so.
